Did you know that 67% of Gen-Z respondents claimed that making friends online has lessened their loneliness? That's according to a recent study done by Bumble. Loneliness has become a real issue in today's world, and whilst there has been a ton of apps dedicated to dating, making friends has been less of a priority.
Bumble wants to change that with Bumble for Friends, a standalone app dedicated to making friends at any stage of life.
It's just like the original Bumble app, but instead of matching with people you're interested in dating, you'll match with people you're interested in being friends with. Once you match, you can start chatting and see if you click.
Doesn't Bumble already have a friends feature? Yup, called BFF, which was integrated with the core Bumble dating app. However, Founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd believes that a standalone app will make it easier for people to find friendships separate from the dating experience.
Bumble for Friends is currently available for iPhone and Android in Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, the US, The Philippines, Canada, and Australia, with more countries coming soon.
